Out of all the cakes that I've done, and that I've wanted to do, I've always wanted to do this one:

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!!!

..... and on a side note, I'm caught up with my posts-to-date. If you didn't know, I changed jobs about three and a half months ago. I'm working for the Oakland Fire Department as a dispatcher!

My shifts have been weird and wonky, and I'm tired almost all of the time - learning and processing lots of new things. So thank you all for your patience, and a special shout out to Training Battalion Chief Sheppard for his support and encouragement in my new job, and of Chu On Cakes!

I ended up baking this cake TWICE!!!! With a sunken cake, a dropped cake, and using whipped topping for the texture, I wasn't sure I was going to get this cake done at all. But it worked out in the end!
So many strawberries!
My squishy - dropped it on the stove as I was flipping it.

Chu Hope Wedding Cake

My sister's wedding cake table. Cake and cake truffles! Since it was a destination wedding, the cake was purchased undecorated at a local bakery, and I decorated it in a kitchen that was not my own! How stressful, I forgot to bring supports for the top tier! fortunately, straws are easy to find anywhere! :)

"Interesting Fact: the bride traditionally stands on the left, and the groom on the right. This dates back to medieval times when the groom might need to defend his bride in the middle of the ceremony, and wanted to leave his right hand, his sword hand, free. While few grooms even carry a sword anymore, the tradition has lasted."
cake cutting is serious business!

Currently, Chu On Cakes is a cake hobbyist fulfilling orders for custom cakes and other sweet stuff
